Not ready for a full denture? A partial is a great solution for replacing the few missing teeth that you do have. You may be wondering what happens if down the road you’re faced with losing another tooth. Does that mean your partial is useless? Fortunately, no. Additional teeth can easily be added to most appliances.
How Do You Add a Tooth to a Partial?
With the prosthetic in place, we take an impression of your mouth. The appliance then comes out when we remove the mold.
This impression allows us to add a tooth that is the same size, shape, and color of the ones you already have. As well as helping us ensure that it fits precisely as it should.
To make the new tooth fit properly with its opposing teeth, we may have to take a quick impression of your other arch as well.
There’s No Need to Go Without A Tooth
If you need to have a tooth removed, you don’t want an open space left behind. The team of Georgia Denture & Implant Specialists can plan ahead with you to make sure this isn’t a problem.
Before your extraction, we can add the new tooth to your partial and have it ready to place in your mouth right away, once the other tooth is gone. If this is something that you want, be sure to let us know so that we can plan accordingly.
