Tooth loss can feel devastating, regardless of your age when it happens. But when it happens early, in your thirties or forties, it seems especially crushing. Not to worry, there are several options to replace your natural teeth!
Dentures and Implants and Hybrids (Oh My!)
- Dental Implants: Today’s most obvious choice for replacing missing teeth is with implants. Made of a titanium cylinder fixed to dental crown, implants look, feel, and act most like your natural teeth.
- Dentures: They have a long history of correcting missing teeth. Modern iterations are made with a pink acrylic base and dental crowns to match the shape, size, and color of any teeth remaining in your mouth. Though it may take you a little while to learn to eat and speak with dentures, they remain an excellent choice for dental prosthesis.
- Hybrids: There are two methods of denture and implant hybrids that we use at Georgia Denture and Implant Specialists: Fixed and Removable. The fixed version is called “All-On-Fours.” The denture piece is fixed in place and retained by its connection to four implants. This is a permanent procedure, only a dentist or denture specialist can remove them. The removable version is often called “Snap-Ons” because the overdenture snaps onto the posts of the implants. These dentures are removable for cleaning.
No matter which prosthetic you decide upon, the main thing is that they look and feel like natural teeth. The denture experts at Georgia Denture & Implant specialist make sure that our patients are pleased with their new smile. Contact our Woodstock Office today for your denture consultation.
